Around Institut de Touraine, in particular in the heart of Vieux Tours and the place Plumereau, there are lots of small restaurants and pizzerias, pancake restaurants and international cuisine.
For an inexpensive meal and an opportunity to meet French students, try the university self services (open from September to June).
Also worth noting is the rue Colbert, a pedestrian street near the Loire, which has a lot of restaurants and bars.
There are also lots of fast-foot outlets - sandwiches, paninis and kebabs can be found in the immediate vicinity of Institut de Touraine.
